We learned from experience that big juicy rhizomes don't do real well
for us, we start getting new shipments in July and don't start planting
till September, so they sit in opened containers (what ever they came
in, in our guest bedroom) till we plant, we don't soak, just plant then,
water. In talking to friend in Nebraska he has stated that plants we
send to him survive better then those that come from climates similar to
his, go figure!! I really think its because we usally shelf our plants
for a few weeks before we send any out. We don't trim them till we
ship, we ship in double paper bags with spook "poop" (sorry for that) as
the cushion, all shipped "priority" mail thru post office. Our clientel
seem very happy with the growth and bloom, some states produce a few
complaints, mostly from very humid states. Lorraine at Woodland iris
