Sometimes he smiles and sends you something special. Most of my crosses are
wide ones, while most of my seedlings come from the relatively few halfbred
x halfbred ones I make. The few real breakthroughs I've obtained -- the
ones that really make a difference in the next generation -- have been from
wide crosses.
