Evening...
Probably used the wrong tag here but wanted to get the word out. Got a call
from Mary Ann Holman this morning. Anyone planning to attend the AIS
accredited show that was scheduled for this Sunday May 7th in Lawton Oklahoma
(put on by SWOIS, Southwest Oklahoma Iris Society) can sleep in... They are
bloomed out and it has been cancelled. The show will go on as a "Display
Only" show. They have a few spurias coming into bloom, but that's about all
that's left.
I suspect the Edmond and OIS-OKC Shows will do alright this weekend here, as
there are many gardens not as far into (or past) bloom as mine and my
neighbor's (Rex Matthews)... But I would think the OKC Late Show on the 14th
of May might be down to the bare nubbins. It's still a little early for the
Japanese. I'm past peak by a few days already, although I still have
several dozen MTB's and several hundred TB's with fairly good bloom left.
