Region 14 provided judge's training on awards and ballots at our Spring
Regional, and it was very well attended. I, being co-chairman of the
regional, was off doing a number of busy things although I would have wished
to be at the training.
So later at the business meeting, we were discussing various things
pertaining to shows and judging, and I, as RVP, just so happen to mention
something about the "Queen of the Show", and boy did those newly educated
student/judges correct me on this one! I've been appropriately reminded
that the AIS Judges handbook designates it as the "Best Specimen" of the
show. They were 100% correct, everyone realizing how easy it is to fall
back on what we all have called it in the past.
I've been chuckling as I see quite a few talk in recent threads about the
Queen (where's the King?). It really is hard to correct old bad habits!
