AB: Big Black Bumblebee

Sometimes patience pays off. I bought BIG BLACK BUMBLEBEE
in 1986 or 87 and have grown it ever since without the hint
of a bloom stalk. Finally yesterday it opened the first
bloom on one of two stalks. It seems to check out as
correct although the falls are perhaps a deeper shade than
I would have guessed from the description.

I have no real idea why I kept it around in an unproductive
condition for so long but the first bloom has almost made
the wait worthwhile.

In the first line above, I alluded to my patience. I am
pretty sure that if you asked my family about that term,
they would tell you that I am not very patient but
abnormally stubborn. ;-)
