Hello iris friends, after months of enjoying iris bloom and iris friends
here at our own place we closed our gate, drove two hours and visited
two gardens in Volcano California. These two gardens are in mountain
country, tall pines, wild flowers and great hosts. Bill and June Stone
were the wonderful friends as usual, Pardner (dog) was doing his best to
personally greet everyone also. There garden couldn't have looked any
better!! Big tall, strong stalks and LARGE blooms with wonderful deep
colors (more intense then ours, could be they have some shade) that
begged to be admired. We also stopped at Laura Masche's garden, sorry to
say we did not get in, had to visualize (in my head) what that garden
always looks like, tall blooms, very neat flower beds plus a view toward
the valley miles away. It always amazes me that we can overdose here and
then turn around and spend our first day off (1/2 half day actual)
searching out more iris and iris friends. Must be pure addiction!!
Lorraine at woodland iris gardens expecting heat to be in triple digits
today, again.
