Border Beardeds are really just short growing TBs. Intermediates are a cross
between dwarfs and TBs. Because they are an interspecies cross they are
often less fertile and because of their dwarf background often need more
chilling than TBs. So they may not be good bloomers in areas that get cool
winters but no frosts(zones 9/10). I used to live in such and area and many
of my dwarfs and intermediates never bloomed (up to 5 years) until I moved
to my current frosty area. Posh and Candy Walk were two very notible
examples.

Intermediate Bearded iris? They both appear to be within the same height
range, so how does one differentiate between the two?
