Bayer makes a rose care fertilizer including a systemic insecticide which
works great for keeping aphids off your iris. Ortho and others used to make
it, but Bayer no longer licenses the patent and their products no longer
contain the insecticide. Miracle grow and other related productss work
great to pump up the bloom and increase. I do not use them as foliar
sprays, however, as I do not like to use overhead watering for iris in my
climate. It can induce rot.
