My most uneducated guess would be that there was a seedpod that had ripened 
and dropped seeds that produced white flowers  and the original plants 
died???  Possible?   Or have I stuck my neck out too far??   But I said  
"uneducated" !!1 I just grow and enjoy them, come what may!    Maybe this is
