Hi,
My hands are 36% disabled (carpal tunnel syndrome, etc. etc.).
I've found the garden tools made by GOOD GRIPS to be helpful.
Good Grips makes kitchen tools, then started making trowels,
etc. They build up the substance of the handle so it's easier
to hold with less strength/less sensitivity.
I have most of my iris in 14-20" plastic pots -- this effectively
raises the gardening surface which helps a lot.
Keep your wrists straight when you do most anything -- you have
more power than way. Wrist bent back is the weakest position
and one that can lead to problems.
You can get tubular foam to put around handles of things --
feel free to email me off list if you can't find it.
Also, I don't worry about how things look as much as I used to!
