I'd wait till the worst of the summer heat is past, but I use a little
miracle grow (on the ground, though, not as a spray) to help the increase
for next year. Some iris are difficult podders. Pollen is easy to spot. I
haven't had a problem with spage-agers (mostly from Monty Byers). Try early
morning crosses onto just opened flowers for best %.
