Bill Shear pointed out an interesting discussion of ongoing research into
Erwinia at the Swedish University of Agriculture...
the paper, in part says :
"Our studies have shown that the induction of defense genes is mainly
dependent on the synergistic effect of jasmonic acid and ethylene, but
salicylic acid is also needed for full induction of some of the defense
genes."
Is this where the idea of putting aspirin (salicylic acid) on plants comes
in?
