TB: CULT: OREGON GARDENS

I recently returned from a wonderful trip to the Northwest which included
visits to Schreiners, Mid America, and Cooley's iris gardens. My iris here
in the hot country were all gone, so it was great to see full bloom again.
Many of my favorites were there, so I could compare them with newer ones of
the same colors. I still though LARRY GAULTER the best of the
blue-purples. Since I am particularly interested in pinks, I was almost
overwhelmed with the beauty of some of those at Cooleys, particularly TWICE
THRILLING and LOOKING FOR LOVE. I had TT last year and lost it to rot. In
Oregon it was a huge, ruffled, gorgeous pink with small, purple horns. The
newer, LOOKING FOR LOVE, was an fantastic pink blend that looked perfect in
size, form and vigor. I don't know how it will do here, but I'm going to
find out. Both of those are on order.
Francelle Edwards in AZ where both I and the gardens steam and bake till
October.
