Hi Sally

Some varieties are pollen sterile. They may produce no pollen on normal
looking anthers, the anthers may be stunted or even plain missing. Some
varities are always sterile, some only produce pollen from time to time for
reasons such as weather etc.

Try it as a pod parent.

Pod and pollen fertility appear unrelated. Some are fertile both ways, some
one way or the other, some appear almost totally infertile.
