The following irises believe themselves to be the final cadidates in the Last
Man Standing Competition at the Burleson empire.
Dusky Challenger
Lemon Chess
Change Your Ways
Edith Wolford
Dusky Challenger opened two blooms on a stalk bent from an effort to reach
for the sun.
Lemon Chess believes herself handicapped due to rains during critical bloom
times when when blooms rotted some of her stalks. However she is not
complaining and still furnishing good pollen.
Change Your Ways said I can do anything DC can and opened two in the top of
one stalk and one on a rotted stalk trying in an effort to catch some pollen.
An EW who had already adopted a race strategy of conserving her strength for
the finish put up two stalks and has yet to open a bloom.
Oh well, the only thing better than bloom at Christmas might be iris blooms
here in June.
Smiles at yawl, its jist ah rainin another bunch here but I got some pollen
on em.
