First of all I apologize for my misuse of terms. Bill Shear I bow my allegiance to you! <g>
Question that I had while researching.......Bill B. questioned how long it would take for the growth of pollen tubes down the style. Granted if all stigmatic lips were fertilized they surely wouldn't all travel down these tubes at the same time would they? Because if they didn't, one set of pollen (assuming of the 3 sets of pollen on each of the stigmatic lips is different)could reach the ovary and fertilize the ovules.....is this something to consider or am out in right field again?
