Another plus for a list home like Mallorn is it appears that they have 
system admins that care... Whoever said that no site is 100% error free is 
probably right, but a significantly reduced number of problems has to be an 
improvement. And even when there is a problem, folks who actually work with 
you to resolve it is a big help.

For usenet groups, you can have a moderated group. Also you can have an email 
to group interface and even archiving, but it is not an undertaking for the 
faint-of-heart. But the overriding problem with it is that it is not real  
user-friendly. Since I'm a geek (and proud of it!) I always used to ask my 
Mom - can you use this and would you? She was the absolute best guideline 
barometer for friendly technology... Bottom line is that usenet groups are 
declining in availibility and not the best place for who I think our audience 
is.

With most standard list software, maybe we could even get folks who join the 
lists to actually READ the list intro message before they can subscribe - 
wouldn't that be unusual!

But this is just my $.02 and I'll stay where the lists are... ie,
John - I'll follow you and your lists anywhere - You are doing a great job!
