Re: TB: orange

There's been an orange thread of discussion at least once every year and
each time, there seem to be a few new ones added. It must be a color
class several people are working on.

HINDENBERG seems to be 'the' orange iris favored in this general area.
Tom Parkhill has a very nice seedling from HINDENBERG currently under
evaluation for introduction. If we'd had enough judges, it would have
won an EC (?is that what it's called - certificate of exhibition?) at
our show.

Two new ones for me this year are AVALON SUNSET and CARNIVAL SUNSET.
Too new to tell how they will do in a 'normal' Tennessee growing year,
but they certainly are orange.

GOLDEN PANTHER was sort of rusty brownish orangeish blended over glowing
gold for me. Very pretty and showy, but neither orange nor gold
exactly. Sort of the same colors in RUSTIC CEDAR, but not the same.
