The bearded irises are just about over, but the LAs are putting on a
show now.
Several TBs bloomed this year that I haven't seen in a long time - ones
that grow well here, but are usually frozen out by late freezes.
STERLING STITCH & CLASSICO bloomed very nicely in fairly nice sized
clumps.
One last TB hasn't opened yet - DETROIT CITY. Close runnerup as last to
bloom is VIRGINIA RUDKIN - an orangey pink bicolor (or maybe a blend?)
with an unusual brownish brick colored beard. COTE D'OR is in full
bloom as was HI CALYPSO until it fell over (new plant, no deep roots).
All this rain has really made the weeds and trees happy. Luxuriant
green jungle.
No sign of repeat bloom stalks yet, but maybe it's still a bit too
early. And I haven't tried to spread fertilizer yet in all this slop.
