The show bench judging is primarily "How well is the cv grown compared to it's normal presentation" plus how well the entrant presents it. Thus, for instance, a stalk that is undergrown or overgrown can be knocked down. One of my first entries was a fantastic stalk of City Lights. Taller than everything else in my garden. All the stalks in the clump were the same way. But, it was much taller than normal for the cv, and didn't get very far.
