I was just thinking the same thing.  Why doesn't a hybridizer just send out
a rhizome here and there to a couple of his iris buddies?  Not only would it
test out the growth habits in diverse climates, but it might even stimulate
enough interest in the cv that when/if it is introduced there would be even
more people happy to pay big bucks, maybe even waiting list. who knows.

But, alas, what do I know.
