Re: HIST: breeding historic type Iris


Gudrun and Superstition are weeds even in the neglected areas of the garden.
We're in a zone 4 area with summers that can hit 100 degrees. 40 mph winds
and hailstorms during the spring do not affect either of them much.

Gudrun is probably the more fertile of the two and the toughest. In one area
it's grown into the base of a rock wall so is a permanent resident. I've
been using it in a few specialty crosses and it sets seed easily.
