I have <never> been so happy to see end of bearded iris bloom season.
Such an excess of bloom and successful crosses! One bloom each still
open on GOLDEN APPLE, DUSKY CHALLENGER and LIGHTNING RIDGE.
Looks like the last cross to 'take' was GOLDEN APPLE X
MASTERY...probably the only time I'll see MASTERY bloom here (doesn't
like weather/soil/me). Trying for a really tough, wide rimmed, color
saturated variegata.
The Louisianas growing wild in the horse pasture near the creek are
loaded with bloom. So nice to just enjoy them. Thank goodness they
aren't fragrant, or I'd probably be tempted to try to make crosses among
them as well....
