We speak of Iris being "the messenger of the gods," but in sad times such as 
these we may also recall that the gods of antiquity had more than one 
messenger, and Iris was the one they sent forth when they intended discord.

But in many cultures the rainbow is also a symbol of hope, of clearing skies 
after storms; let us hope sun will soon break through.
