Good afternoon,
Hi, my name is Robert Benbow I live here in Lake Ozark Missouri moving here
from Maryland when I retired in 1991. I am an avid gardener growing some of
most everything. Ten years ago I got interested in hybridizing daylilies and
now do some 3,000 seedling each year I also grow several thousand seedling
for a friend who lives in St. Louis but has limited space. Three years ago I
tried my hand at crossing Iris and soon found Iris are nothing like crossing
Daylilies! I made all the common beginner mistakes. I am now becoming more
interested and would like to educate myself in hybridizing Iris. As a member
of the Daylily e-mail Robin I have received valuable information from very
knowledgeable growers and hope to do the same here. I only grow about one
hundred different varieties of TB and MED Iris but expect delivery of 30 new
irises this summer. I would be interested in obtaining a good book or
publication about hybridizing and would welcome any advice.
Thank You
Robert Benbow Camdenton Missouri zone 5
