Re: CULT: pots (from photos)


Thanks for all the pot pix, Betty.  For me, a picture is worth a
thousand words.

How often do you have to water?  How much sun to get TBs to bloom in
those pots?  And how much shade to keep them from cooking?

I tried mixing up some of my own perlite, (horse) manure, and potting
mix (local greenhouse mix similar to Promix) this spring.  I found some
rhizomes on the porch that I dug for our sale last year and forgot.
They had been sitting in plastic bags since last July.  I planted them
in the biggest pots from the dumpster bonanza, gave them each a shot of
plant hormone laced transplant plant food, and they have all grown
really well.

I have avoided those self-watering trays here.  I think of them as
mosquito houses in normal rainfall periods.  But may rethink that.
