CULT:Where did that come from

Earlier this year, a Master Gardener group asked how irises sometimes just
'appear!' I relayed this story as one possibility and they really enjoyed it!

Years ago, an iris friend said he couldn't bear to compost left over
rhizomes. He would drive down the road and 'pitch' these irises into fence rows or
any friendly looking environment.

Iris dumping is not so uncommon!

That same group enjoyed a tour and more talks in the garden Tuesday night.
At least one amateur hybridizer was born that night! <vbg>
