I think you are right. One may yet be able to kill some of  those vile 
cooties as they graze, not to mention there is some thought  that there are two 
brood hatches some years. 
 
I did not see any frass yet but it is amazing how the weeds and drifted  
leaves from several seasons will obscure that sort of thing.
