Christian, I think he sent some of his irises to The AIS convention, but I don't know
  whether his seedlings were among them or not.   I'm glad you reminded me of the possibility.   I'll call the ones I know who are going and ask them to watch for his stuff
   and snap them if they are in bloom.
  No, you don't have to have pictures in your catalogue, but it helps.   I have also thought of getting someone here to take pictures next spring and put them on a website for him.   He is such a nice guy, and hybridizes such beutiful irises, I hate to see him have these problems.

I'm guessing he can still plan on introducing his irises. Maybe it might even be better to take pictures next year and circulate them.... then everybody will have a fresh memory of the pics and how badly they want his intros right when they are getting orders ready...

Did he send any of his seedlings to someone else to try out? Maybe they can get pictures?
