<<Betty, am I understanding correctly that the first year germinant(s)
weren't as strong as the delayed germinants?>>

Linda, only one sprouted or lasted to be planted in the original group.
Planted the fall of 2003. It developed rot the first summer, and I scraped and
saved it. (I swore I wouldn't try to save seedlings, but it was the only one
I had from this cross and I wanted to see it bloom at least once!!)

The trouble delayed bloom until this year. I think the spot where it was
planted was too low. Or maybe too much Miracle Grow for it that year. Good
healthy clump now with lots of stalks.

<<Were there color differences as well (i.e., pink first year germinants
vs pink and blue in later years, like I saw with the PINK FORMAL X CSONG
seedlings)?>>

One in a pot got froze back, still don't know the color for sure. One was a
pink self, and this one is the combination. Still a very small sampling.
Couldn't really draw any conclusions. I made the cross again last year but
none came up this spring. All have had good branching. Both parents are in
bloom now . . . maybe I'll check for another try in the morning. If it doesn't
rain.

Had a beautiful array of siblings blooming from the cross that produced
ANGEL AMONG US. Could just stand and look at it! Will try to get a clump shot
tomorrow! (Another MM chilld) Pity I don't like pink. <vbg>
