Ken and I always take the photo of the label and then the flower shot. It
keeps your records in good order. You have to trust that the garden you are
visiting has good labels. Also trust but verify using the so R & I if it is
not an iris you know well. A big plus on garden labeling is when the label
has the year/and or hybridizer on it. If you do not have time to transfer all
the photos and you need to go back later to do it you are not trusting only
your memory. One of us takes it before and one prefers to take it after.
Either way if you always do it the same way you can find the photo much faster
and identifying it is really easier. Mistakes however can happen if the
garden has an error in its labeling but that does not happen too often.Carol
