HYB: season

Pretty much over here - bloom season was bracketed by late freeze to start, then late frosts a couple of weeks (?) later, then tornado speed winds and hail to finish the season. With a few bouts of heavy rain in between.

But so far, it's better than last year ;-) Some of the early attempted crosses are making pods. Too soon to tell for the later ones, tho I don't expect much - plants were pretty badly stressed. Last few blooms opening now are still showing dings from hail damage from over a week ago.

Other than all the stresses, it's been great weather for making crosses. I can't remember a bloom season with so much delightfully cool weather.

Mike Sutton, if you have time, did you notice any drop in fertility after the freeze damage there?

Donald, I feel like your climate has moved here!

Betty, STAR GATE is one of the last to bloom here this year. If it weren't so beat up, I'd try to put pollen from something on it. Few things left to bloom look pretty miserable.
