Re: REF: online checklist

Alex,

I finally figured out how to get your son's program running and I think it is great.

Installing it requires some knowledge on how to execute command line actions and that is certainly beyond a most iris people.

Would it be possible for him to create a script that would do the complete installation in an XP (home or pro) environment, or is that the point of creating the web browser version of the program (httpgrab.rb)?

Has he done any additional work on it?

Thanks

John

Hi John,

My son wrote a program in ruby that will download iris database info from a list of names. The info downloads and parses into an excel database that I then transfer it into an access program my other son wrote for me. My 850
cultivars took about 15 minutes to download into my computer.

The info links up with my picture database and the flowers appear with the
data base info in my iris program.
