| millennium!  It's been eight years or slightly more since I was online and
| actively involved with irising, and I've gotten back into the fray.

| One of my dad's neighbors suggested that I get back into growing irises
| while I was helping her with some yardwork, and I told her that I would 
love
| to, but had nowhere to grow any irises.  At the time, I was living in an
| apartment.  She suggested that I use her backyard, since "nobody's doing
| anything with it anyway."  It's been a wonderful trade-off: she and her
| husband get to see the irises every day, they have fresh cut flowers 
during
| bloom season, and they don't have to do any work for it.  *I* have a place
| to garden, and I don't have to water (auto sprinklers).  Right now, I'm 
back
| at home (quit my job without a backup at the same time my dad had back
| surgery and needed some help around the house) so I'm right down the 
street
| from my garden.  I spend time every morning taking pictures, making 
crosses
| (whether or not anything will come from them...), pulling weeds, and
| enjoying my garden.

| It's not the perfect set up, but it works for now and I'm so happy to be
| back doing something I love and involved in the local (Fort Worth) 
society.

| Anyway, it's good to be back.  I'm looking forward to discussing my 
favorite
| flower with everyone here.
