Rusty -- Good to hear from you again, and even better to have you back on the list. Let us know what happens in your garden. (Sent you an earlier reply, but it seems that something in cyberspace must have eaten it.) -- Griff

Howdy all, I guess the real title of this post should be "OT-Reintroduction" since I was a member of this list way back when it was iris-l. That was last millennium! It's been eight years or slightly more since I was online and actively involved with irising, and I've gotten back into the fray. One of my dad's neighbors suggested that I get back into growing iriseswhile I was helping her with some yardwork, and I told her that I would loveto, but had nowhere to grow any irises. At the time, I was living in an apartment. She suggested that I use her backyard, since "nobody's doing anything with it anyway." It's been a wonderful trade-off: she and herhusband get to see the irises every day, they have fresh cut flowers duringbloom season, and they don't have to do any work for it. *I* have a placeto garden, and I don't have to water (auto sprinklers). Right now, I'm backat home (quit my job without a backup at the same time my dad had backsurgery and needed some help around the house) so I'm right down the street from my garden. I spend time every morning taking pictures, making crosses(whether or not anything will come from them...), pulling weeds, and enjoying my garden. It's not the perfect set up, but it works for now and I'm so happy to beback doing something I love and involved in the local (Fort Worth) society.Anyway, it's good to be back. I'm looking forward to discussing my favoriteflower with everyone here.
