When I use bleach, it's diluted about a half cup in a 5 gal bucket, usually just dip the plant in, slosh it around, then dunk it in a bucket of rinse water. Haven't noticed problems here. The few irises I mail to others, I send without bleach dip.
I have occasionally forgotten and left some of my own plants in the bleach solution, or a stronger one. The roots turn kinda pink. Is that how yours have looked, Eugene?
Plants here are so stressed by other things, I hadn't thought to consider bleach damage as a factor. Thanks for the info.
