Art,
I would be interested to learn just who the judges were that gave your
Lemon Mist a third place, because they are wrong! Write me privately if
you do not care to divulge their names on the "L". Let me quote the
Judges handbook page C-19. "The size of the flower is primarily
determined by the care of its grower. If a flower appears larger than
you remember, do not fault it if the stalk is also proportionately
large".
In my experience giving iris optimum care which can make the flowers and
stalks larger than normal should not be penalized but rather rewarded
for a job well done. I'm sure the Rocha's can attest to this.
