are growing so poorly. The high nitrogen fertilizer could be a factor,
but you failed to mention how you used it. It is generally accepted
that a low nitrogen fertilizer is best for iris. Too much nitrogen will
promote lush growth at the expense of flowers and perhaps burn the
foilage. Use a fertilizer with the first number under 10. Something
like 6-20-20 or 5-10-5 would be better.
I would be interested in hearing how you prepared your new bed in order
to come to any conclusion!
