Hi Everyone!
For several years I have been growing an iris under the name LITTLE EGYPT
that was included in a collection of Arilbreds that I received as a "door
prize" at our local iris sale. An Arilbred it definitely is not. The
description in the 1989 Checklist is as follows:
LITTLE EGYPT (A. Harper, R. 1985). Sdlg A1-8. MTB, 16" (41 cm), EM. S.
medium red; F. full red: bronze beard. D16-7: (Molten Embers x Caliente) X
Copper Mountain.
The iris I am growing matches this description with respect to the flower
and season of bloom, but the stalk has the characteristics of an SDB rather
than an MTB; height 12"-14", no branching, 2 buds (terminal and spur).
My question to the experts is, could an iris such as I have described be
obtained from the parentage (all TBs) given in the registration?
