In general, I feel it is best to ignore disagreeable postings, but, because
we have so many new members, and because I am aware of the great efforts made
on this person's behalf I shall speak.
As the story came to me, this person wants a start of LOS ANGELES, which
he/she is unable to get from the neighbor who grows it. He/she e-mailed
several irisarians with webpages, including Mike Lowe, who manages the HIPS
page. Mike made energetic attempts to try to locate a source for this person,
including calling the Historic Iris Preservation Society Commercial Source
Chairman, Cameron Hall, who researched, but did not have a listing in his
current catalogs. Because I had a catalog that Cameron did not have, Mike
spoke with me and we provided him/her with two potential sources, one
possibly outdated, for the apparently rather scarce iris he sought. After
having received this information, S.S. Bedlam posted an inquiry about this
cultivar on line, to which, one assumes he/she has received no further
response.
Someone will always help, and several someones did.
