Dorothy,
Many of my customers grow their iris in pots for various reasons. Some
have very poor or rocky soil and some are besieged by gophers. In any
event we have various size pots on hand just for this situation. For
the talls I would suggest a 5 gallon pot or larger. One rhizome
starting out could stay in the pot for at least two years. Of course
the larger the pot the longer.

Some of us were talking about putting iris in pots last year. Chris Hollinshead
was one who did, and I put City of Stratford in a pot, then into the garden
late in the season. and it disappeared over the winter (zone 6a, here)
Did anyone else pot up iris last fall who will/can share results??

oh, my TDF iris -- (forgot all the rules)
I can't live without Immortality. Very sentimental, I've grown it
for many years, don't even know how long. I need it right outside my back
door. Reliable, sturdy, immortal, a reflection of my old self!
