COMP:OT: help - AOL software problem

AOL again - my 'personal filing cabinet' is giving me a something or other
protection fault execute module (guess it would help if I wrote it down)
which aborts the AOL software when I try to open my mail archives.  I tried
upgrading to AOL3.0 thinking that would reload the software and fix the
problem - didn't work.  I can still send and read mail, but can't get at old
mail messages stored there (not a total loss - most of the important stuff is
in regular files, but annoying when I have deleted something that comes up
again and would like to clip out of it).  Any suggestions as to what if
anything I can do other than completely wiping everything and starting from
scratch with a floppy?

Please respond to me directly to keep from cluttering the list - sorry to
drift so far from irises.
