Today at the Barnes & Noble store in my area I found Hortus III in paper
cover. Barnes & Noble have a special edition in two volumes packed in a
library case, soft cover for $39.98.
In our store, Colonie, New York, it is located in the front in the bargain
book racks.
I have not seen this edition discounted previously so if you have been
yearning for Hortus III this may be your chance. Barnes & Noble also sell
books on the net with a huge site that can be searched by title, etc.
Recently in a compilation of garden notes for a newletter elsewhere
(daylilies) we had a note that Hortus will not be updated again by the
current publisher as they have not turned a profit on the third edition.
This may account for the Barnes &Noble bargain.
Our store had a tall stack of them. Previous price was in the $100.00 range.
