What a wild week, only 5 days ago it was 31C, then snow and more snow, 22cm
at last count. Tonight the weatherman is predicting record lows -5C or
better, and maybe more snow!! My little patch of unnamed SDB which were in
full glorious bloom as late as Saturday are now tattered limp sticks with
little bits of purple petal stuck to their sides. Good thing I ordered a
whole bunch of irises a couple of weeks ago, something to look forward to.
The plants I am really grieving over are the Martagon lilies, they were up 1
1/2' now most are bent over, some completly snapped, after the frost tonight
I will probably have lost all chance of blooms.
