Chuck Bunnel asked if there was any real data on trifuralin stunting
newly transplanted rhizomes. Last fall I used preen on a newly planted
bed. I have not noticed any stunting whatsoever. The fans are sturdy
and full. Granted some of the stalks are not as tall as in past years,
but I attribute that to late planting and a 25 degree cold snap this
spring. The weed count was 1/5 of the other beds, mostly around the
edges of the bed. I am surrounded by dandelion fields on four sides. I
used a similar product this spring and have not noticed any stunting
with this product.
