Hi Patty;

Hang in there. The Convention begins on June 3rd, and the first Board
Meeting is that very day. I would be extremely surprised if a solution
to AIS blues re: requests for books, calendars, and R & I's etc., is not
at the top of the agenda, due to all the complaints. By the 7th of June
some sort of solution should be decided upon, and it won't take long
after that to implement it, if we are really lucky. I don't know where
else you can readily get The World of Irises. Perhaps a quick note to
Dave Niswonger before he heads to convention will be one more log on the
fire, if you have time. I'm sure he will not be leaving home before the
end of next weekend, so consider it seriously. It will be a help to all
of us who have experienced problems this year, and don't want a repeat
next year. It does nothing to advance our cause when enthusiastic people
lose interest for lack of service. If he couldn't handle it, he should
have resigned a long time ago. It should never have dragged on this
long. Thank goodness we have had some people who have given him some
assistance along the way. Perhaps one of these kind souls will handle
the job properly next year. Surely another week at this point won't now
make much difference. I don't know if anybody will have any material for
sale at the convention, as we have had in the past, but if you know
someone in your area who is going, perhaps you can ask them to pick up a
copy for you. I would put a stop payment on my cheque if I were you. Sad
that it has to cost us money to protect ourselves, isn't it? Anyhow,
IMHO that is how I would handle it. I wish you luck. It shall be
resolved soon, whatever your decision. Hope the blooming irises are
keeping you too busy to miss it right at the moment.

head east.
