Celia,
After they bloom, I cut the stalks of my Spurias off a little below
the lowest seed pod. Since the leaves of a fan that blooms stays green
well into the summer, I feel that it is best for the plant to leave said
leaves intact. My Spurias go semi-dormant in late summer. I tidy them up
some more then.
