Whenever we brew fresh coffee the grounds end up in a flower bed and
they haven't seemed to hurt anything. The loosen the soil a bit and in
this adobe conrete Diablo Valley gardeners call soil every little bit
helps. My mother used coffee grounds in houseplants ALL the time and
they flourished. Of course Mom used to talk to her plants all the time
and when they didn't perform (aka blossom) she moved them inexorably
closer to the back door. Funny how they began to blossom before they
got the old heave ho! Mothers are funny that way.
