Rick: Sorry I missed your original response -- I'm new to E-mail,
tho' a confirmed computer nerd (I'm a graphics designer & desktop
publisher.
Thanks for the advice re my iris die-off. I'll take it to heart & to the
store to buy Benomyl. It's so dry here thru the growing season that I've
never had a fungus problem in the garden before -- things are much more
likely to turn into dessicated skeletons than to suffer wet rot, but, as
many have said before me, it's been a weird 6 mos., weatherwise.
Fortunately, whether Botrytis or some other nasty cause, only the one
smallish bed of iris got hit & all else in my terraces seems growing &
healthy, with a few things now in bloom, including my first Iris of the
year, SDB Jewel Baby, supposed to be a Z.4 re-bloomer. I put in some
re-bloomers last year & this location will a definite test of the
claims!
