Yes, we had tornados all around us. It was worst at work -- a mere 20
miles north of here (we are on the Williamson county line, northernmost
Travis County).
The devastation is just awful. At least two separate tornados with
deaths, buildings destroyed, people trapped in a grocery store with the
roof collapsed, etc. etc. etc.
My garden and home are in Southwest Travis County and we were spared the
tornados and highest winds though got pounding rain.
They are saying perhaps a repeat today!!!!
Our "black and white" (read: black clay and white limestone) soil make
having a basement a financial impossibility -- it would have to be
dynamited. Tornados are very rare around here and most can be ridden
out in an inner room of a house. Not the one yesterday, sadly.
